Ocular Effects of Neurodegenerative Diseases: Evaluation and Management
Increasing numbers of patients with neurodegenerative disease (both age-related and demyelinating) are presenting to eye care practices.  Even with the continual advancements in treatments for these conditions, many patients will develop related ocular sequelae. This course presents the expected ophthalmic manifestations, appropriate exams modifications, and vision rehabilitation strategies which can be employed in a primary eye care setting.  It includes a case-based discussion of Parkinson’s disease, parkinsonian syndromes, posterior cortical atrophy and multiple sclerosis.
